I am waiting patiently for my next 12oz bag of coffee beans. I usually don’t keep much on hand because I don’t want beans sitting on the shelf getting old. The bag on its way to me is from Ceremony Coffee in Annapolis, Maryland, home of the United States Naval Academy.
Back in 2014, I first "researched" the question, "Who has the best espresso?" I googled it and found Ceremony. They won "Best Espresso" at the 2013 and 2014 New York Coffee Fest. At first I couldn't believe there were coffee competitions, but then I realized, there are wine tasting competitions, and cooking competitions. I immediately looked up their website and was very satisfied with its simplicity and utility. Their site made it easy to order. They even had a custom photo to represent the coffees notes! I thought that was such a great idea. Some designer did well on this site. I sent a message through the site. I wanted to know if Destroyer was a blend or single source. I was again surprised that they actually replied! I really wasn't interested in blends at the time. So, I filed that away in the gmail archives. Almost a year later, my curiosity was still strong and I've finally made the order. Can't wait to taste it! Just for reference, the Coffee Fest site doesn't list a 2015 New York or Seattle Winner. However, it does show the following:- Copper Horse Coffee Roasters won in Atlanta 2015
- There will be a Portland Competition October 23 - 25, 2015
- The next New York event will be March 11 - 13, 2016.
